MACA - Used by the Inca and early Peruvian cultures for more than 1500 years to increase endurance, mental clarity, fertility, sexual ability, to reduce physical or mental stress, to balance hormonal irregularities, to promote the growth of healthy, hair bones and teeth, to give sustainable energy and to tone the muscles of the human body. Contains almost 60 phytochemicals plus amino acids, 8 minerals, 20 fatty acids, a full array of vitamins, saponins, carbohydrates and protein.
CACAO - Cacao is remarkably rich in magnesium. Magnesium balances brain chemistry, builds strong bones, and is associated with more happiness. Phenylethylamine (PEA) is found in chocolate. PEA is an adrenal-related chemical that is also created within the brain and released when we are in love. This is one of the reasons why love and chocolate have a deep correlation. PEA also plays a role in increasing focus and alertness
GOJI BERRIES - Goji berries are a low glycemic dried fruit. They contain 18 kinds of amino acids, 21 trace minerals, and are an exceptional source of vitamin C. Raw, organic.
WHEATGRASS - The therapeutic powers of wheatgrass can be attributed to the oxygenating effects of the chlorophyll it contains, as well as its complete spectrum of vitamins and minerals, amino acids, enzymes and essential fatty acids. Over 80 enzymes have been identified in it and it contains vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, B6 and K. When grown on the most mineral rich soil, wheatgrass is able to assimilate and therefore supply, the full spectrum of 92 minerals and trace minerals, including zinc, selenium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, boron, chloride, chromium, cobalt, copper, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, nickel, sodium and sulpher.
AGAVE NECTAR – Agave Nectar syrup is often substituted for sugar or honey in recipes. Vegans in particular commonly use agave syrup to replace honey in recipes. It is also used as a sweetener for cold beverages such as iced tea because it can dissolve quickly. The syrup naturally contains quantities of Iron, Calcium, Potassium & Magnesium which contribute to the resulting color.
HEMP SEEDS – Hemp contains nature's most balanced oil with essential fatty acids (EFAs) omega 3 and 6, plus GLA in a nutritionally optimal ratio. These are the fats that can only do us good, contributing to hormone balance, skin health, immune system functioning and the regulation of cholesterol levels in the blood. This easy to harvest grain contains over 30% oil, approximately 25% protein and a high proportion of amino acids. Hemp seed contains essential minerals including magnesium, phosphorous, potassium and sulphur, plus manganese, which helps metabolise EFAs. It is also a source of zinc, calcium, iron and vitamin A. With approximately 60% linoleic acid (omega 6) and 20% linolenic acid (omega 3) the 3:1 ratio is in the ideal proportions that the human body needs. These ratios are particularly important, because it is found that too much of one will cause a deficiency in the other. Omega 3s, otherwise found in oily fish or linseed are commonly lacking in the western diet. Linseed oil has a high omega 3 content but at a less favourable ratio.
CHIA SEEDS – A seed with abundant nutrients: calcium, amylose (a slow-burning starch helpful for hypoglycemics), a vast array of vitamins and minerals, and an unusually good ratio of omega-3 oil to omega-6 oil.
